  Delaware Eye Institute is searching for an enthusiastic Ophthalmic Technician. This is an amazing opportunity to grow your career in eye care with an incredibly well respected practice.   Our top Candidate will bring at least one year of ophthalmic technician experience or one year of medical front desk experience, preferably in an ophthalmology or optometry practice. However, we are prepared to train a candidate with background in a medical speciality or with a background of strong tenure and progression in a retail/customer service field.   Delaware Eye Institute is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, individually based, high quality, eye health care. Our doctors are board-certified, skilled ophthalmologists and optometrists that provide a range of services to help our patients attain the clearest vision possible. Our services cover a range of eye problems, including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, dry eye, and ocular injuries. For more information, please visit our web-page at www.delawareeye.com.   The Ophthalmic Technician will perform a range of duties which include preparing the patient to see Ophthalmologist and/or Optometrist and conduct preliminary exam and captures medical history. In addition, the preparation of examination and treatment rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, cleaning, and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures may be required. Travel to other locations may also be necessary to support clinical needs.

The PSR has a significant role as you serve as the initial point of contact and make the first impression on all patients visiting the office. This is especially important in a medical environment where people may be apprehensive. Effective execution of this role will require the ability to multitask and respond to the needs of the patients and other staff efficiently and calmly.
