Florida Vision Institute is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, individually based, high quality, eye health care. Our doctors are board-certified, skilled ophthalmologists and optometrists that provide a range of services to help our patients attain the clearest vision possible.

Our services cover a range of eye problems, including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, dry eye, and ocular injuries. We have the common goal of ascertaining the most appropriate care for any given patient, explaining the purpose of the treatment, and in initiating said therapy in a courteous and compassionate manner, irrespective of age, gender, nationality, and race or payment program.

Our Ophthalmic Technicians are responsible for daily patient care, the ease and successful flow of the clinic and assisting physicians by assignments. They promptly and professionally assist the physicians in patient eye care.

• Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories.
• Eliciting and documenting a proper chief complaint.
• Communicates with patients regarding follow up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, signs and symptoms, surgery schedules.
• Maintains and cleans all ophthalmic equipment being used.
• Scribes readily when doctor desires.
• Assist in minor in-office surgeries, procedures and laser treatments.
• Accurately performs: Refractions, Lensometry, Kartometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, OCTs, Amsler grids, Muscle Testing, Pupil Exams, Topography
• Returns phone calls to patients, pharmacies and physicians daily.

• Ophthalmology knowledge with related on-the-job experience required
• Previous Glaucoma experience is preferred
• Successful completion of JCAHPO Ophthalmic Certified Technician/Assistant or an Associate Degree preferred.
• Experience using Electronic Health Records systems, KeyMed Practice Management preferred.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
• Demonstrate superior computer skills.
• Highly energetic with positive attitude.
