Regional Provider Relations Manager

 

The Provider Relations Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing practice outreach programs with optometrists, physicians, and community organizations; continuing the development, maintenance, and growth of the practice; and serving as patient advocate while representing, in a professional manner, the best interests of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the development, budgeting, and marketing planning of the practice outreach department with ESP Marketing and Operations Teams.
  • Assumes responsibility for the organization and management of the outreach department:
    • Establishes and fosters relationships with all optometric and other referring providers.
    • Coordinates all continuing education functions for the practice referral sources.
    • Provides ongoing educational support tools to the referring providers in the areas of reimbursement and compliance.
    • Coordinates with the medical staff of the practice to ensure proper communication and follow-up with referring providers.
    • Provides education for office staff to fully understand the importance of referral sources and the proper management of referred patients.
  • Communicates on a regular basis with the VP of Operations, Marketing Manager and Director of Provider Relations
  • Maintains a database with pertinent information regarding referral sources of the practice and referral patterns of each individual.
  • Prepares a yearly calendar of events for the referring providers.
  • Maintains the speaker’s bureau and schedules presentations.
  • Develops a series of specific events and seminars in accordance with the designated marketing plan for the practice.
  • Coordinates and tracks referred patients to ensure proper communications with referral source
  • Develops and consults with the practice executive committee on promotional and print material.

Qualifications

Manager Functions:

  • Supervise goals by analyzing them to find potential opportunities to increase revenue
  • Defining targets by physician and services
  • Bi-weekly One-on-One calls
  • Assessment and training of field team members
  • Works with team members to support overcoming objectives, resource development, and supporting CE process training/efforts

Requirements:

  • B.A. in Business Administration and three years of experience in ophthalmology or previous provider relations experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to ensure project completion.
  • Present a highly professional image.
  • Willing to travel and work a flexible work schedule.
