Eye Doctors of Washington is seeking a Clinical Ophthalmic Technician Manager who is capable of and can display a documented history of managing a team of Ophthalmic Technicians to perform at a high level of competency in clinical care and patient service. We are a progressive, multi-location, fast paced ophthalmology practice. Applicants must be willing to work between offices.

• Responsible for the interviewing, selection, training and continuing education of all clinical staff excluding retina
• Responsible for the continued development and administration of the clinical training curriculum for all technicians in the Lutherville office and assist other locations as necessary
• Administers bi-annual skill assessments of the clinical team
• Organizes and conducts regular clinical team meetings
• Consults with the management team on problems and interpretation of policies to ensure patient needs are met
• Performs other duties as assigned to assist in the function and efficiency of the clinical team
• Assists in patient work-ups and diagnostic testing as needed based on the demands of business
• Recognizes and triages medical emergency situations according to office policy

• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is preferred
• Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the management of large clinical teams in an ophthalmology practice
• Must demonstrate the ability to lead a large team to success
• Must exhibit the character and capability to train and mentor team members that are just starting their clinical careers
• Must be capable of managing the clinic on a daily basis while still being able to plan for operational improvement for tomorrow and beyond
• Be highly energetic with a positive outlook
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail
• Demonstrate superior computer skills
• Must be willing to travel to other offices to meet the demands of the position
