Assist in the smooth operation of an ophthalmology practice. To perform basic, advanced and complex procedures in assisting the physician; all to be handled accurately, quickly, and courteously. Must be well organized and have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, have excellent computer skills, time management skills, communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other staff members. Must be flexible in work assignments and schedule; demonstrate commitment to ongoing education and upgrading of skills. Must meet and adhere to MFEC policies and procedures, uphold to the highest ethical principles of maintaining confidentiality and other performance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED
Detail orientated, enjoy working with the public and possess exceptional customer service skills. Must be become CMSS
certified.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Advanced comprehension of the ophthalmic assistant skills as outlined by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel
in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Prefer employee to take AAO home study course after the first year of employment. Prefer
COA certification at 3 years employment.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Experience is not required, but preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to write and type.
Must be able to communicate via phone.
Must be able to read data from and enter into the computer correctly.
Job frequently requires: walking, standing, stooping, crouching, twisting, balancing, hearing and handling objects with
hands.
Must be able to lift 25lbs.
