    The Certified Coder responsibilities will include retrospective medical record audits, the working of tasks associated with claim edits and denials, physician education, office staff education and participation in development of process improvements to aid in the sending of clean claims.


    Certified Coder:

    • Responsible for retrospective medical record audits.
    • Understanding of claim edits and know the appropriate actions to take to correct the claim prior to submission
    • Prepare claim resubmissions
    • Research correct ICD and CPT codes to get claims paid for any rejection
    • Work with clinics to gather additional information that may be needed to correct a claim for submission to payor
    • Provide education to physicians, medical personnel and medical office staff
    • Work cross functionally to improve processes that allow for clean claims and timely reimbursement
    • Meet deadlines specified by management
    • Support and backup other areas of the department as needed


    • CPC certification required
    • Medical record auditing experience required
    • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with physicians, medical personnel, and medical office leadership and staff
    • Customer service experience preferred
    • Experience with electronic medical record is preferred
    • Undergraduate Degree preferred

    This position will require travel to clinic locations across the United States. At times, travel may be 3-5 days in length.
