    Katzen Eye Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Work Up Technician. This individual is responsible for providing as well as performing diagnostic tests as required by the Ophthalmologist and Optometrist and administering treatment as allowed and ordered by the physician.

    Responsibilities

    • Uses autorefractor and lensometers (automatic and manual)
    • Monitors patient flow, ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full after testing
    • Escorts patients to front desk after exam
    • Willingness to learn new things and to cross train
    • Performs Optos (willing to learn)
    • Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology
    • Knowledge of EHR/Zeiss Forum
    • Can perform or willing to learn the following : visual acuities, EOM’s, confrontations, pupillary exams,NCT, applanation tonometry, pachy, color test, tonopen
    • Demonstrates the ability to obtain a medical history, chief complaint, social history, family history
    • Can manually refract or willing to learn
    • Can operate the slit lamp / anterior chamber assessment
    • Monitors patient flow, ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full after testing

     

    Administative:

    • Ensures that exam rooms are tidied between patients, including cleaning sinks and sanitizing equipment
    • Cleans all lenses used by doctors
    • Monitors diagnostic schedule to stay on-time of patient scheduling
    • Works to ensure Billing and Coding is billed and ordered

    Essential Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology
    • Knowledge of EHR/Zeiss Forum
    • Knowledge of Diagnostic Equipment
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Positive team member
    • Strong organization with attention to detail
    • Demonstrated computer literacy.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Two years experience in a healthcare setting; ophthalmology strongly preferred
