    Midwest Eye Center SCMIDWEST EYE CENTER S.C. was established in 1974. Our staff consists of ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians with services ranging from basic eye exams to the most sophisticated testing and complicated surgical treatment of eye diseases. Our medical staff holds teaching and research positions in the local universities and our facilities are the state of the art and are at the cutting edge of technology. We have our own surgery and laser center dedicated to eye surgeries only.  In this surgery and laser center we perform a wide range of eye surgeries like no patch, no shot, no stitch cataract surgery; lasik vision correction surgery; laser surgeries for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy; plastic surgeries and delicate retina and vitreous surgeries.


    Our Receptionists play an important role in the success of our practice in that they are the first point of contact with patients.  This position is responsible for completing patient registration and discharge activities for our patients, as well as performing clerical and reception duties as assigned.


    • Maintains a clean reception area
    • Answers phones, distributes calls and messages to the appropriate employee
    • Stocks front desk with supplies
    • Greets patients upon arrival for appointments
    • Completes registration accurately, assuring signatures are complete, verifying insurance forms and release of information is in medical records
    • Assists patients with completing admission packets if needed
    • Obtains insurance information
    • Collects deductibles, fees and co-insurance payments prior to procedures
    • Notifies staff of cancellations or no shows and changes schedules if needed
    • Acts as a liaison between the physician and the Operating Room Supervisor regarding scheduling if needed
    • Maintains medical charts
    • Triages patients complaints
    • Handles routing of mail


    • High school diploma or GED
    • Two years experience in the medical / surgical area
    • Comprehensive knowledge of medical office and surgical procedures preferred
    • Receptionist experience required
    • Admissions and discharge experience preferred
