    The Director of Purchasing is responsible for negotiating enterprise wide agreements with suppliers and vendors related to the equipment, supplies, and services for our practice nationwide. With a focus on streamlining the ordering and procurement process, the goal is to obtain the best quality, service and lowest cost for the business. This individual is the primary point of contact for our supplier partners and the field operators.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Negotiates enterprise wide agreements for supplies and services
    • Responsible for ensuring that ESP’s practices and surgery centers have optimal contracts in terms of prices, terms, and services
    • Oversees purchasing activity to ensure that preferred vendors are being appropriately utilized
    • Secures new contracts through a competitive bidding process
    • Acts as liaison between the field and vendors; communicates with vendors to exchange information, resolve discrepancies, correct errors, and clarify issues related to invoices, statements, orders, and deliveries
    • Sources most qualified and cost effective vendors and negotiate pricing for purchases from various vendors for assigned commodities
    • Ensures that current vendors are providing top level service and meeting agreed upon conditions on price and services
    • Prepares and authorizes purchase orders with current vendors
    • Responsible for Full Purchasing cycle of invoices:  Responsible for receipt of invoices, reconciliation of invoices with purchasing contracts (pricing accuracy), and delivery of invoices to Accounts Payable for payment
    • Monitors use of contracted vendors and work to minimize spend outside of contracted programs
    • Prepares monthly activity/cost savings report
    • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years related business experience required
    • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and oral/written communication skills
    • Detailed to spreadsheet-reporting and data-gathering skills
    • Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task, as well as meet deadlines
    • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
    • Planning and decision-making abilities
    • Negotiation and collaboration skills
    • The ability to analyze technical data
    • Exceptional mathematical and multi-tasking skills
    • The ability to schedule and manage people and projects
    • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
