Our services cover a range of eye problems, including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, dry eye, and ocular injuries. We have the common goal of ascertaining the most appropriate care for any given patient, explaining the purpose of the treatment, and in initiating said therapy in a courteous and compassionate manner, irrespective of age, gender, nationality, and race or payment program.

     

    The position is responsible for scheduling of all surgical procedures for all physicians assigned to this location in Port St. Lucie.

    Responsibilities

    Surgical Coordinator is responsible for:

    • coordinating surgery for multiple doctors in the practice
    • insuring all of the pertinent patient documentation is completed
    • patients have been cleared by their primary care physician prior to surgery
    • meeting with patients to discuss surgical options
    • discuss medication regiment
    • collecting / insuring payments (deductibles, copays, co-insurances) are collected before surgery
    • working with the Physician to insure all documentation is available for the doctor prior to patient’s surgery

     

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Employee must be trained in Ophthalmology with related on-the-job experience, an Associate Degree, and Bachelor Degree Preferred.

    Preferred Skill/Technology: 

    • KeyMedical Practice Management, EMA Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox
    • Knowledge: Electronic equipment, fax, copier, printer, scanner, mail meter, computer, hardware and software, including applications and required programs
