Katzen Eye Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant/Diagnostic Technician. This individual is responsible for performing diagnostic tests as required by the Ophthalmologist and Optometrist and administering treatment as allowed and ordered by the physician.
Uses autorefractor and lensometers (automatic and manual)
Monitors patient flow, ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full after testing
Escorts patients to front desk after exam
Ensures that exam rooms are tidied between patients, including cleaning sinks and sanitizing equipment
Cleans all lenses used by doctors
Monitors diagnostic schedule to stay on-time of patient scheduling
Billing and Coding is billed and ordered
Candidate will also be asked to learn and then perform:
Visual field tests, OCT, Cell Count, B-Scan, Orbscan/Pentacam, LOL Master and Manual A-Scan, Fundus Photos
Candidate will bring a knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology and a basic optics and refractometry skill set to the job. Experience is preferred, but a medical background and a willingness to learn will absolutely be considered.
