    Ophthalmic Scribe  Needed For Our Team

    The Ophthalmic Scribe will provide accurate documentation and summarization of the ocular examination and recommendations, while maintaining patient flow and communication reegarding apointment status.


    • Correctly summarize and document what the doctor says during an examination, including but not limited to, proper charting of the examination:  documenting additions to the chief complaint, assessment and recommendations for treatment.
    • Complete billand and verify it has been submitted.
    • Observe the patient and the physician, and assist when appropriate during the exam, including but not limited to:  holding the patient's head in the slit lamp, providing additional medications and/or instruments, following directions in the medical emergency.
    • Make sure all exam rooms are ready and prepped for work up technician to start patients morning.
    • Maintain patient flow, by ensuring a minimum of two patient rooms are always occupied.  Remain available to the doctor or limit the time away from the doctor and the patient.


    The Ophthalmic Scribe Qualifications:

    • Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
    • Previous Ophthalmology, Optometry or other medical experience preferred.
    • Experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician preferred, but not required.
    • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate superior computer skills.
    • Highly energetic with positive attitude.
    • Must be willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet the demands of business.
    • Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
    • Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
