    At Retina Group Chicago, we work closely with referring physicians, optometrists, and other medical providers to coordinate care and help patients make the best decisions for their eye health.


     


    We are currently looking for an Ophthalmic Technician/Flourescien Angiography who is responsible for rooming patients, recording patient histories, performing any necessary testing and recording results, and assisting the physician as needed for in-office procedures as well as examining the circulation of the retina and choroid using a fluorescent dye and a specialized camera..  Technicians are expected to accompany the physician to all satellite offices.

    Responsibilities

    Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities:



    • Accurately record patient's medical history.

    • Measure and accurately record visual acuity, intraocular eye pressure, pupil size and reactivity, eye muscle function and blood pressure at each patient encounter.

    • Accurately record all necessary data for tracking quality measures in electronic medical record, on fee ticket or any additional form that may be required for this purpose.

    • Apply drops to dilate, anesthetize, or medicate eyes.

    • Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures, including starting IVs for fluorescein angiography, performing optical coherence tomography, and prepping patients for lasers, injections and any other procedure performed in the office.

    • Perform other tests and measurements as requested.

    • Accurately send prescriptions electronically per the physician's order.

    Qualifications

    The Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications:



    • Advanced understanding of testing equipment, maintenance and usage of such equipment for OCT. B-scan ultrasonography, fluorescein angiography, fundus and optic nerve.

    • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of all ophthalmological medications and dosages.

    • Must be willing to travel to all satellite locations as required.

    • Exhimits professionalism with patients and other staff members, including staff at satellite offices.
