    Our Patient Service Representatives perform general services for all patients, visitors, vendors, doctors and other practice staff.  They are responsible for maintaining medical records, assisting patients with scheduling appointments, registration, insurance processing, accepting payments for services rendered, entering charges for services provided, registering patients in recall list, sending out recall notices and performing appointment confirmation calls.

    Responsibilities

    • Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Answer all incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Respond to patient needs or direct them to the appropriate person for assistance.
    • Develop overall operation knowledge of the practice in order to better serve the patient.
    • Have insurance knowledge i.e. be aware that HMO patients require a referral.
    • Follow scheduling template.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a high school diploma.
    • Must have the ability to establish confidence and trust with patients. 
    • Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress.
    • Have the ability to provide excellent customer service, communication, telephone and grammar skills. 
    • Must have an empathetic and compassionate manner.
    • Prefer one or more years experience working in a medical position where patient contact was required. 
    • Knowledge of insurance plans is helpful.
    • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
    • Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently.
