    Under the general direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, the Cash Application Specialist posts all payments received in the Cash Posting Department as assigned on a daily basis.

    Responsibilities

    • Post insurance payments to patient accounts from insurance company explanation of benefits
    • Post ERA’s (835 data file format)
    • Process daily posting reconciliation
    • Assure all monthly, weekly and daily deadlines are met within the Cash Posting Department.
    • Assure all open batches are closed and completed daily
    • Support and backup other areas of the department as needed
    • Identifies/resolve credit balance accounts
    • Process Refunds as approved
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma is required
    • Undergraduate Degree preferred
    • Revenue Cycle/Cash Posting experience preferred
    • Customer service experience required
    • Experience in Ophthalmology and NextGen is preferred
    • Analytical Problem Solving Skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • The ability to read and understand an EOB, (ex. allowable, disallowable)
    • Effectively manage multiple priorities
    • Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel and the internet
    • Effective communication with peers, managers, and all individuals affiliated with the company
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Deadline Driven
