    Florida Vision Institute is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, individually based, high quality, eye health care. Our doctors are board-certified, skilled ophthalmologists and optometrists that provide a range of services to help our patients attain the clearest vision possible. 

     

    Our services cover a range of eye problems, including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, dry eye, and ocular injuries. We have the common goal of ascertaining the most appropriate care for any given patient, explaining the purpose of the treatment, and in initiating said therapy in a courteous and compassionate manner, irrespective of age, gender, nationality, and race or payment program.

     

    Our Front Desk Representatives play a vital role in our practice.  This is a highly visible position and the skills necessary to be successful are an experienced, detail-oriented, organized individual with a friendly and tactful telephone manner.  This individual must present to the public a neat appearance, workspace and be at all times, professional courteous and caring to all.

    Responsibilities

    • Referrals & Authorizations
      • Make sure all authorizations/referrals are on file and fee sheets are properly highlighted to reflect services authorized for that date of service.
    • Appointments
      • Call all patients that did not answer yes on HouseCalls log.
      • Answer telephones and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
      • Schedule appointments for patients.
    • Medical Records
      • Scan all medical records/referrals/authorizations received in EMR/KeyMed.
      • Send necessary medical records as requested and keep a log.
    • Office supplies
      • Keep track of all office supplies and place orders as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
    • Understanding of insurance plans.
    • Referrals and authorization experience required.
    • Understanding of ophthalmic medical terminology.
    • Previous Ophthalmology, Optometry or other medical experience preferred.
    • Experience using Electronic Health Records systems, KeyMed Practice Management preferred.
    • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate superior computer skills.
    • Highly energetic with positive attitude.
