    Ophthalmic Technician Needed For Our Team

    We are currently seeking an energetic, patient centric, team oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team.  

    Responsibilities

    • Open and close all tech lanes
    • Turn on all instruments, lights, snellen chart
    • Wipe down instruments daily
    • Inventory medical supplies
    • Keep all tech rooms stocked on a daily basis
    • Submit purchase requisitions to accounting
    • Copy schedules
    • Prep charts for the day
    • Assist patients to the tech room
    • Screen patients
      • Update medical history, medications and ocular history on exam form
      • Document chief complaint
      • Check CVF and EOM
      • Check pupil sizes and response
      • Check visual acuity
      • Check IOP pressures
      • Dilate patient
      • Document gtts usage or any changes to medication regimens, etc.
      • Obtain consent form for laser patients
      • Preform ETDRS Refraction and AMD patients every three months
      • Assist patient to waiting areas
      • Review chart for proper documentation
      • Ensure appropriate forms are placed within the chart
      • Place patient chart in hallway or in photography area
    • Answer phones when requested
    • Confirm appointments when requested
    • Assist in photography when requested (FA and OCTs)
    • Communicate to doctors and staff any abnormal situations

    Qualifications

    • Certified Ophthalmic Technician or two years experience working as an ophthalmic technician.
    • Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
    • Prefer experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician, but not required.
    • Phlebotomy, required.
    • Fluorescein Angiography, required.
    • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate superior computer skills.
    • Highly energetic with positive attitude.
    • Must be willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet the demands of business.
    • Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
    • Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
