The Senior Staff Accountant will play an active role in continually developing and improving internal processes within the department as well as taking ownership of their role. They will be someone who is detail oriented, has the ability to prioritize, has accountability, and can work well in a small team environment.

• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts and execute financial closing activities; meeting monthly and quarterly close timeline and reporting requirements
• Maintain accurate financial records, and perform financial analysis
• Maintain and improve internal controls related to assigned accounts
• Compile supporting documentation for external audits
• Respond within pre-defined deadlines to questions from Operations personnel during the monthly close process
• Assist with the preparation of financial and statistical reports required management to assist the leadership team in making well-informed decisions
• Prepare monthly reporting, to include ad-hoc reports to analyze variances and trends
• Perform budget to actual monthly variance reports and analyze variances for assigned accounts
• Maintain chart of accounts in accounting system
• Maintain and update all finance policies and procedures ensuring that they are kept current and accurate
• Other duties as assigned by management

• A minimum of 3-7 years of corporate accounting experience
• Verifiable multi location experience
• Effective communication and a strong work ethic
• Detail oriented, highly organized, and computer literate with proficiency in MS and Outlook, with extensive experience utilizing Excel in the preparation and development of spread sheets to support all accounting functions
• Account reconciliation experience
• Past roles in accounting that contributed significantly to the month end close process
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a minimum of 8 years in Accounting or G/L roles can compensate for lack of Accounting or Finance degree
