Delaware Eye Intitute has a dedicated group of expertly trained doctors and staff committed to providing the highest quality medical and surgical eye care. Known for our compassionate approach to patients and their families, we provide a caring environment that encourages patient education, and we focus on answering all patients' questions.
As a multi-specialty group, each year our ophthalmologists and optometrists see thousands of new patients of all ages, from infant to adult, for routine eye exams, as well as performing thousands of eye operations each year for cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetes, and functional and aesthetic eyelid problems.
Our Ophthalmic Technicians are a vital part of our clinical team and require the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with a diverse patient base. They are responsible for comforting patients while performing necessary diagnostic tests and measurements that instills patient confidence in their treatment.
Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities:
Have the ability to measure and record the following measurement tests (and other tests as required):
Brightness acuity test
Maintain optical and surgical equipment.
Assist in minor office procedures, including the sterilization of instruments.
Ensure the exam lanes are clean and stocked with appropriate supplies.
Ensure the patient lobby and clinical working area is neat and clean.
