Milauskas Eye Institute is seeking active, engaged, and enthusiastic team members who want to work closely with patients and care givers in a non-clinical role. Our Financial Clearance Specialists are a vital member of the healthcare team, and are responsible for providing world class customer service to clients.
The Financial Clearance Specialist completes pre-registration activities (insurance verification, prior authorization and retrieving referrals, collecting and verifying demographics as needed), and informs patients of his/her liability. The role may require payment collection either over the phone or in person. Assures confidential treatment of all communications written and verbal. The Financial Clearance Specialist must be capable of making decisions and working independently to achieve all departmental functions, as well as maintaining an in-depth understanding of job duties, roles, responsibilities and changes. The role requires Specialists to also do their best to minimize front-end related denials and maximize reimbursements.
The Financial Clearance Specialist Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required with some college education preferred
Two or more years’ experience working in a medical environment preferred
Customer service experience preferred
Experience with data entry
Experience with EHR and EPM, NextGen is strongly preferred but not required
