Retina Photographer Needed For Our Team

We are currently seeking an energetic, patient centric, team oriented Retina Photographer to join our team.  This is a very specific role and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retina photography, not just ophthalmic technician experience.


Retina Photographer Responsibilities:

  • Preform fluorescein angiograpy, OCT, Bscan and other diagnostic tests
  • Patient imaging and venipuncture (FA/HSICG/OCT)
  • Explain angiography to all new patients and obtain signed consent forms
  • Perform Microperimetry tests utilizing the MP-1 and Electroretinogram tests utilizing the ERG
  • Assist patients in returning to waiting area and accompany them from one area to another
  • Display excellent patient interaction skills
  • Maintain photography equipment (cameras, computers, printers) and keep equipment in good condition
  • Inform Purchasing Clerk of needed equipment repairs by outside vendors, when necessary and in a timely manner
  • Archive images
  • Obtain certification for clinical trials
  • Travel to other NRI offices when requested
  • Train new hires in patient imaging and venipuncture
  • Maintain Crash Kit every three months.  Order replacement medications as needed Monitor Oxygen tank, maintain supply.


The Retina Photographer Qualifications:

  • BS-Biomedical Photography, with concentration in Ophthalmic Photography preferred.
  • Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Prefer experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician, but not required.
  • Phlebotomy, required.
  • Fluorescein Angiography, required.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate superior computer skills.
  • Highly energetic with positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet the demands of business.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
  • Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
