Summary:  Diagnoses and treats a variety of eye diseases and ocular injuries as a staff optometrist, performing the following duties;


Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Performs refractions, fits and checks contacts lens, provides scheduled patient examinations and triage services to patients as needed for care and treatment of eye disease
  • Consults with patient or representation of patient to secure information
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patients
  • Administers and prescribes treatments and drugs
  • Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene and methods of prevention of eye disease
  • Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment
  • Works a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Physician’s work schedule will be determined based upon patient needs


  • Graduate of an approved school of Optometry
  • National Board of Examiners in optometry certification, current licensure in the state of California
