Overview

Optometrist 

 

Colorado Eye Center (CEC) established by Dr. Jack May in 1963.  He and his colleague, Dr. John Faulker, started this practice with one overarching goal:  transform the way eye care is seen and approached in Colorado and beyond. Both Doctors specialized not only in general optometry but also (and most importantly) in patient care.  They made sure to operate with "patient, first" mentality being at the forefront of their efforts.

 

 

CEC has proficiency in the latest ocular technology (including Optomap retinal imagining and Diopsys electrodiagnostic testing) matched with over 50 years of experience equips us to properly assess, diagnose, and treat patients eyes.

 

In addition to providing routine eye care, optical and contract lens services, we have board-certified ophthalmologists allowing you to provide surgical solutions such as LASIK, PRK, and overall ocular treatment for your patients.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Summary: Diagnoses and treats a variety of eye diseases and ocular injuries as a staff Optometrist.

 

Essential Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs refractions, fits and checks contacts lens, provides scheduled patient examinations and triage services to patients as needed for care and treatment of eye disease
  • Consults with patient or representation of patient to secure information
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patients
  • Administers and prescribes treatments and drugs
  • Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene and methods of prevention of eye disease
  • Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment
  • Works a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Physician's work schedule will be determined based upon patient needs

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an approved school of Optometry.
  • National Board of Examiners in Optometry certification, current licensure in the State of Colorado
