We currently have an opening for a top notch individual at our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas for the position of Payroll Specialist.  The Payroll Specialist will assist the Payroll Manager in overseeing the calculation and payment of salaries, wages, bonuses and taxes, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations across several states.  Must provide high quality customer service to both internal and external groups related to inquiries and problem resolution.


  • Ensures delivery of accurate and timely payroll.
  • Ensures that computing, withholding, and deductions associated with payroll are done timely and properly.
  • Organizes and reviews forms associated with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversees the distribution of paychecks or arranges direct deposit programs.
  • Ensures payroll records are updated and reports on any matters of interest.
  • Performs detailed payroll analysis with regards to budgeting and management ad hoc reporting.
  • Assists with payroll integration through horizontal acquisitions.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects payroll related items.
  • Answers payroll related questions for employees.
  • Builds various reconciliations/reports from scratch.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and maintains effective communications between all levels of personnel.
  • Sets up tax codes and ensures everyone is placed in the proper code.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources to ensure that all employee personnel records are accurate and benefit elections are complete and accurate.
  • Maintains payroll to GL interface for accurate accounting.


  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with ExponentHR preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills and sound judgment with the ability to problem solve individually and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll and tax regulations.
  • Ability to research changes in laws and regulations and translate to action items.
  • Ability to develop as the company grows.
  • Encouraged to question processes and search for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a must.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
