Overview

 

 

Lawrence Eye Care is a family eye care with over 30 years of experience.   We provide comprehensive eye exams, contact lens evaluations and fittings, and diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and disorders.  We also have a full service optical / on site lab and use new technology.

 

The front desk receptionist is responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks and special requests associated with the daily operations. The daily tasks are often time-sensitive and therefore require consistent performance without reminders, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. An overview of the daily and special requests is outlined below under “Essential Functions”. All tasks are to be completed as a team player within the department and company.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive to work in a timely manner and ready to assist patients.
  • Responsible for patient check-in, greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional manner.                                                             
  • Track patients in the reception area and communicate with them, as needed.
  • Evaluate computer data to verify all information has been received, completed, and signatures obtained.
  • Scan patient’s insurance card and photo ID.
  • Ensure that proper authorization or referral is collected from the patient.
  • Enter and verification of patient demographic information into the computer.
  • Collect patient insurance co-payment/self-payment.
  • Check-out patients who have completed their visit and schedule follow-up visits as necessary. 
  • Verification of patient charges upon check-out, post payment and provide receipt to patient.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to type and comprehend a variety of paperwork.
  • Have the ability to provide excellent customer service, communication, telephone and grammar skills. 
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to handle confidential and valuable materials.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Korean) candidate preferred, but not required.I
