Lasik Assistant/Counselor Needed For Our Team

The Lasik Assistant/Counsel escorts patients into the exam rooms, performs initial part of visual examinations and gathers important medical information prior to the physicians visit with the patient.  The Lasik Assistant/Counselor performs testing as prescribed by the physicians.

Responsibilities

Lasik Assistant/Counselor Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform testing for patients on specific equipment ( ie pentacam, wavescan, autorefract and lensometer) to give quality information to the doctors to use in evaluation of the candidacy for Lasik surgery.
  • Enter information into medical records system such as vision, refraction and patient demographics.
  • Interact with patients in person and by phone and be able to answer pertinent questions, schedule appointments, counsel preoperative and post operative visits.
  • Perform computer related duties such as scheduling, posting, word processing, scanning and medical records.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of patient referrals and database.
  • Assist in performance of general office duties such as answering phones, scheduling, rooming patients for the doctors and helping other team members accomplish there duties.

Qualifications

The Lasik Assistant/Counselor Qualifications:

  • Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to close Lasik surgery sales preferred.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a well-organized, team-player with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate superior computer skills.
  • Highly energetic with positive attitude.
  • Must be willing to travel to other offices to meet the demands of business.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
  • Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
