Overview

EyeCare Services Partners (ESP) is creating the nation’s leading eyecare services company in both quality and scale by consolidating ophthalmologic and optometric practices and ambulatory surgery centers that are locally dominant and clinically differentiated.

 

ESP is seeking a Claims Billing Team Lead who will oversees and participates in the billing of all revenue generated within the practice management software system daily, review and analyze all reporting for trends and areas of improvement, and train and oversee the Claims Billing Associates to ensure timely and accurate submissions of claims to maximize revenue collection. The role is part of the Billing Leadership team and will work to support the goals of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Review, and ensure claim batches are created and all insurance claims are processed on a daily basis.
  • Review dashboard for claim resubmissions, and appeal reasons.  Top 3 – provide resolution to decrease, and track per location. 
  • Reviews daily KPI reporting for errors, trends or to identify system issues due to abnormal standard billing numbers by location.
  • Work closely with Surgical Scheduling Dept. to process Non-Covered Procedures and Co-insurance/ Deductibles.
  • Ensure we are set for Upload (837 data file format) for 95%+ of our payers.
  • Ensure batches are created for each location assigned, pre-edits reviewed to reduce errors and maximize clean claims billed.
  • Contact clearing house for any payers we are not currently submitting electronically and complete application.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve with Claims Billing Associates to ensure clean claims on the 1st submission Review Patient statements, and ensure dunning messages are changed and appropriate.  Provide feedback, and suggestions to improve cash collection efforts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is required, extensive experience in medical billing and collections may be substituted
  • Undergraduate Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years medical billing and collections experience required
  • EMR/EPM experience is required, preferably in NextGen
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Experience in Ophthalmology, Optometry, Optical practice preferred.
