The Clinical Application Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, teaching, and monitoring proper usage of NextGen specific standard operating procedures within existing ESP practices, as well as practices to be acquired.

Responsibilities

  • Review and develop standard operating procedures and educational materials for NextGen usage within ESP.
  • Perform workflow analysis on newly acquired or target practices to determine and assist in the implementation of any necessary workflow changes prior to the implementation of NextGen.
  • Perform workflow analysis on existing practices already utilizing NextGen to determine areas of the workflow requiring additional education to the practice staff.
  • Work with third party trainers and existing ESP staff to ensure curriculum of training is consistent with ESP NextGen usage as guided by the developed standard operating procedures.
  • Support NextGen go-lives on site with practices new to NextGen.
  • Provide support, as needed, to departments investigating irregularities in NextGen usage to determine the issue as well as participating in the determined remediation.
  • Track personal expenses and prepare personal expense reports.
  • Manage the completion of multi-departmental tasks identified within the integration timeline.
  • Maintain a positive and authoritative attitude when working in the office as well as onsite with newly acquired entities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of NextGen end user experience required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience training clinical workflow to end users is required. Eyecare experience preferred.
  • Experience with, or ability to learn quickly through vendor training courses, editing NextGen electronic medical record templates to support developed best practice workflow.
  • Must possess advanced level skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be available to travel up to 25%-50% of the time.
