Inland Eye Specialists are seeking a PACU RN with previous, verifiable experience in eye procedures, such as cataracts, retina, cornea and glaucoma. The position is need for three, possibly four days per week. The PACU RN is responsible for the safety and care of the patients while in the pre-operative and post-operative areas.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible and accountable for the delivery of individualized nursing care to patients both prior to administration and immediately following the emergence from anesthesia for surgical intervention. Incorporating current clinical knowledge with established nursing practice, he/she performs nursing interventions utilizing the nursing process. By assessment of the individual patient and the scheduled surgical procedure, he/she anticipates the needs of the patient and provides for those needs while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

 

This position requires working at both our Hement and Murrieta locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of NLN Accredited School of Nursing
  • BLS, ACLS
  • CA State licensure as Registered Nurse
  • Familiar with the basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the California Nurse Practice Act.
  • Knowledge and experience in peri-anesthesia patient care with a minimum of 1 year experience in a PACU or Critical Care Unit. Ambulatory PACU is preferred.
  • Possesses skills and knowledge in the following areas:*
    • Principles of organization
    • Physical Assessment of body systems
    • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
    • Pharmacology related to anesthetic agents and their effects on the post operative patient
    • Knowledge of patient rights
  • Ability to assess patients’ needs: physical, educational, emotional, spiritual, and age appropriate.
  • Position will require limited travel between our Murrieta and Hemet locations.
