The Director of Nursing primary duty is to ensure high quality patient care.  Additionally, he/she is responsible for evaluating the performance of staff nurses, providing feedback and mentoring, assisting with education programs, and contributing to staff professional development. Reports directly to Administrator and indirectly to Medical Director.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate activities of clinical and business operations of the facility.
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate activities to ensure professional clinical care for each patient.
  • Develop/implement entity specific policies and procedures affecting daily operations but also meet regulatory requirements,
  • Develop, direct, and evaluate administrative, and personnel policy, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Assist ASC Director with vendor relationships and negotiations.
  • Provide direction for evaluation of all facility programs and committee activities, including but not limited to the Quality Management Improvement, Risk Management, Safety, Infection Control, and delegate responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor/review performance evaluations of all clinical employees.
  • Monitor/review appropriate scheduling/staffing activities of patients, physicians, and personnel to ensure quality of services and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide direction for employee training and motivation.
  • Monitor guidelines and standards for assuring compliance with state licensure, CMS, federal regulations (OSHA, CLIA, etc.) and accreditation.
  • Maintain a patient-centered approach, ensuring that all patients receive compassionate and high-quality care
  • Oversee the activities of selection, supervision, and counseling of clinical personnel.
  • Perform other administrative duties as delegated or assigned by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Registered Nurse licensed to practice nursing in the state of the practice applying to
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MSN/MBA/MHA) preferred
  • Perioperative Management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of CMS, federal and Colorado regulations
  • Experience with AAAHC accreditation and compliance
  • Proven experience in healthcare administration, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within an ASC or similar healthcare setting
  • Candidates with peri-operative/operating room nursing experience
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
