We are seeking a Temporary Surgical Center Front Desk Representative for our Sycamore, Illinois location. 

 

Our preferred candidates will have at least one year of medical front desk or medical billing experience, ideally in an optometry or ophthalmology practice.

The Surgical Center Front Desk Representative, under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director, performs admitting and administrative tasks for patient admissions. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying demographics, monitoring patient status, and collecting time-of-service payments. As the first point of contact, this role is key to creating a positive impression. Success requires strong multitasking skills and the ability to respond efficiently and calmly to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides regular communication and feedback to supervisor
  • Speaks to and approaches others in a friendly and compassionate way
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with others, including physician offices, insurance companies, patients and others about insurance benefits and costs associated to procedures
  • Greets patients and families with a positive attitude
  • Registers patients when they arrive at the center.
  • Maintains patients privacy at all times during the registration process
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to problem identification and solutions
  • Works well with others
  • Demonstrate appropriate time management skills, prioritization and task completion
  • Keeps Director of Nursing updated of any schedule changes or patient arrival delays
  • Acts in a way that demonstrates our responsibility to be reliable and prompt
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments or pieces of work at one time. The capability of working within a stressful environment under consistent deadlines, pressures and interruptions
  • Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • CPR/AED on hire or within 90 days of hire
  • Good phone etiquette
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong computer Skills
  • Offered pay $16.15-$24.23/Per Hr.
