Sterile Processing Technician

Must be able to work at both Hemet and Murrieta ASC Locations 

 

 

Responsibilities

Process and distribute disposable and reusable medical/surgical instrumentation and supplies in accordance with operating room and center policies and procedures.

Essential Competencies

  • Participates in maintaining proper inventory supply levels
  • Is responsible for decontamination, pre-pack, and maintaining the Sterilizer per the manufacturer’s instructions, including daily biological and documentation of such
  • Rotates processed instruments as needed
  • Works with the physicians related to instrument needs
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards
  • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department team, inter- and intra-departmental to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives
  • Participates in department’s quality assurance/quality improvement program
  • Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and able to multitask efficiently under demanding situations
  • Knowledge of all aspects of general and surgical sterile processing procedures
  • BLS on hire or within 90 days of hire
  • Certified with at least one year of experience and ongoing education
  • Current CSPD license or proof thereof required
  • Has at least 1 - 3 years of full-time multi-speciality sterile processing experience
