Midwest Eye Center is searching for a highly organized, detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Supervisor, that possess strong communication and leadership skills to efficiently manage staff, ensure patient satisfaction, and maintain smooth front office operations for our multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in Calumet City, Illinois office.  Great work hours, no major holidays, a robust benefits package, a team oriented working environment where you are seen, heard and respected.

 

Our ideal candidate would have two or more years of experience in supervising a medical front office, with a preference for those who have worked in an optometry or ophthalmology practice.

As a Supervisor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our department/team. You will be responsible for leading a team of employees, providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure that they meet and exceed performance targets. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of employees, fostering a collaborative and results-driven atmosphere
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to team members
  • Set clear performance goals and expectations for team members, regularly assess their performance, and provide constructive feedback
  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations, including scheduling, task assignments, and workload distribution
  • Monitor and ensure the quality of work produced by the team and take corrective actions when necessary to maintain high standards
  • Identify training needs and provide ongoing training and development opportunities to team members
  • Address and resolve operational issues and conflicts within the team, seeking solutions to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are followed, promoting a safe working environment
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and between departments, promoting transparency and cooperation
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and workflows, implementing best practices and innovative solutions

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Supervisor or similar role in healthcare
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A commitment to safety and quality standards
